Traditional and DIgital Perversions
Revealing explorations into the world of perversity. Oil painter DeWitt Cheng presents his paintings of surreal vaginal organisms. Reminiscent of life forms found in fossils, Cheng's creations float in space as if you are looking at them under a microscope. Rendered in renaissance color the paintings exude an eerie feeling of solitude and sexual obsession.
On the opposite spectrum of mediums, JC Garret displays his latest digital paintings of perverse political parody. A majority of his images contain incarnations of US Secretary of State Condeleeza Rice fitted with Russ Meyers-esque breasts and in compromising positions. Mingled with images of bunnies, George Bush, and other political figures the works are composed in poster fashion as if to be part of a poilitical campaign extolling anti-status quo virtues.
